This weeks answer is: War in Iran

The top 3 concerns are: “erasure of Black history” (with 71% of respondents worried about the issue), “war with Iran” (69%),  and “ICE or govt. agents violating rights and due processes” (67%).  The other options are also on the list, with “too many illegal immigrants coming into our country” placing last with only 15% expressing concern. Last week’s answer: South Africa

The White House has repeatedly shared unfounded claims that white Afrikaners from South Africa face a “white genocide.” Those claims were used last week by the administration to support their decision to increase the number of Afrikaners allowed to resettle in the U.S. from 7,500 to 17,500.

In May 2025, the government suspended the refugee resettlement program for people fleeing from substantiated wars and persecution, including those in Sudan, Afghanistan, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. That suspension remains in place today.
