Careers at Capital B
Capital B is a nonprofit local and national news organization for Black audiences, and we’re looking for mission-driven journalists and nonprofit professionals who want to do meaningful work in service of Black communities. Cofounded by Lauren Williams and Akoto Ofori-Atta in 2021, Capital B brings together local and national reporting to ensure Black audiences have the news and information they need to navigate their daily lives and remain civically engaged.
With local newsrooms in Atlanta and Gary, Indiana, and a national newsroom with journalists located around the country, our work is grounded in community listening and rigorous reporting. Experienced reporters produce deep investigative and enterprise journalism on the issues that affect Black people nationwide, while locally hired journalists focus on the stories that matter most in their communities.
We are committed to building a positive, supportive, and nurturing workplace where people can grow and do their best work. We believe caring for our team is essential to serving our audience well, and we hope you’ll consider joining us. If you’re excited about our mission and think you’d be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you.
